TIPS FOR DIGITAL ARTWORK SUBMISSION
Here are some tips to ensure that your artwork will look its very best when reproduced:
|
|
1) The resolution of your artwork should be high.
Set the resolution to 600 dpi for text, and 300 dpi for pictures.
2) Bring in all fonts and graphic files used by your document.
For Quark and Indesign collect for output and make sure to include fonts and pictures. Make sure to include fonts when saving PDF and make Press quality.
3) Write down the exact name of the file and print out a sample.
4) Does it bleed?
Bleed means that the image extends on all four sides of the pages. The purpose is to ensure that after a page has been printed and trimmed, the image will still continue to the edge.
5) How to Create Bleeds.
To create bleeds, make your document larger than the final CUT SIZE. We require that you make your document 0.125" larger on all four sides, therefore, the size with bleeds will be 0.25" larger than the final cut size in both dimensions. A business card will be 3.75” x 2.25” but will cut down to 3.5” x 2”. |
